‘What You Believe’ EP by Morgan Bain
Reviewed by Rob Stewart
Morgan Bain’s self titled first EP owed a lot to his obvious inspiration and influence of fellow Perth Blues and Roots artist John Butler… His follow up EP ‘What You Believe’ however sees Morgan taking the opportunity to explore new boundaries as his natural musical progression takes wings.
Morgan has self-described his music as Alternative, moody, cinematic soul with a little bit of trip hop, but for me that’s Morgan selling his tunes a little short. Tracks like In The Middle is full of verve, and pop-funk energy, with a falsetto driven infectious chorus that will have you belting out your best rendition the next time you hit the showers.
Find out for yourself when Morgan and his band hit your club, the Arnhem Club, this Friday and Saturday for a night to remember and on the Saturday night you also get to throw in OZ blues powerhouse the Giants to make it a massive double bill.
Listen in to Gove FM as each week we feature a new release by an Australian artist or group. Every day before the midday news, hear the feature artists track, and Wednesdays after the 2pm news, tune in for an interview with the featured artist.
